STIWA Group, a leader in automation and manufacturing technology, is presenting its smart lock solution, SMALOX, at the Netherlands Europost Express exhibition in Amsterdam. Developed specifically to meet the needs and challenges of the rapidly evolving postal express services market, this smart lock offers a versatile and innovative solution for different applications, such as home toolboxes, offline pick-up boxes and key boxes. The SMALOX solution uses near Field communication (NFC) technology developed by Infineon Technologies AG (FSE: IFX/OTCQX: IFNNY).

Infineon's NGC1081 microcontroller (MCU) is the only NFC label-side controller on the market with an integrated motor drive and energy harvesting module. With the NGC1081, a single chip smart lock can be realized, thereby reducing material costs. The SMALOX lock draws power directly from the mobile device via NFC technology, eliminating the need for an external power outlet such as a battery or electrical connection, both simplifying the installation process and reducing maintenance costs.

The NGC1081 integrates NFC interfaces, H-bridges, and energy harvesting modules to enable the implementation of intelligent actuators in single-chip solutions. It supports a variety of operating modes, in passive mode can be obtained by the NFC field using the energy collected by the phone to obtain electricity, in active mode can be powered by the battery. The NGC1081 also integrates an AES128 accelerator and a true random number generator for data encryption and decryption in an ultra-low power environment. In addition to being used for passive NFC locks, NGC1081 can also be used for standby power supply for active lock systems, NFC interface ics for electronic devices and other applications.
